On June 2020, Health Canada has issued a safety alert warning for consumers regarding the recall from the market of certain hand sanitizers found to contain industrial-grade ethanol that has not been authorized for use in hand sanitizers in Canada. The use of industrial-grade ethanol could pose health risk to consumers since it contains impurities. Frequent use of these products may result in dry skin, skin irritation or cracking. Listed below are the affected products:

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hereby informs the general public that there have been no Certificate of Product Notification (CPN) or authorization issued for the importation and distribution of the said hand sanitizers in the Philippine market.
To help limit the spread of COVID-19, wash your hands often with soap and water. The use of alcohol or alcohol-based hand sanitizers is recommended when soap and water are not available. For the list of Authorized/Notified Hand Sanitizers, you may visit the FDA website at ww2.fda.gov.ph.
