The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hereby warns the public against the proliferation of repacked and misbranded food products being sold at social media platforms.

Considering that the sources cannot be identified as well as good manufacturing and handling practices cannot be assured, the safety of these food products cannot be guaranteed. Moreover, these food products may be adulterated since they may possibly be manufactured and/or repacked under unsanitary conditions and may also contain substances which can pose health risks to the consumers.

The public is hereby advised to purchase only from reliable sources and FDA-licensed food establishments and refrain from buying food products that are not in their original container and do not have complete labeling information.

Likewise, all entities, sellers, and/or distributors are sternly warned and hereby ordered not to manufacture, repack, distribute, sell, or offer for sale any adulterated, misbranded, and unregistered food products. Appropriate regulatory sanctions shall be imposed to establishments that are continuously conducting such and other similar activities upon issuance of this Advisory.
