It was brought to our attention that a certain food supplement uses the FDA Advisory template and revised it as “FDA Recommendation” claiming that the agency supports the use of their product.
We would like to remind the public that the FDA does not and will not recommend the use of any brand of health product. We safeguard public health by issuing a License to Operate and Certificate of Product Registration/Notification to compliant establishments and health products, respectively. The FDA Advisory is only used by the agency in the release of its official announcement, advice, alert, warning or notice to the general public or target stakeholders.
We urge the public to be vigilant by using the FDA Verification Portal (https://verification.fda.gov.ph/Home.php) to verify if an establishment is licensed, and if a product is registered or notified with the agency. Likewise, we encourage the reporting of violative health products and non-compliant establishments via email at [email protected] for the appropriate action of the agency.
