In the interest of ensuring public health and safety, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in coordination with the FDA Academy, the University of the Philippines —College of Public Health and the National Poison Management and Control Center, shall abide by the directive of President Rodrigo R. Duterte, as recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, imposing for strict social distancing measures in light of the Covid-19 public health emergency situation.

As such, the “In-Depth Training for Supervising Pesticide Handlers” scheduled on 30 March to 3 April 2020 shall be re-scheduled until further notice.

While faced with this challenge, the FDA is fully committed to proceed with the implementation of Administrative Order No. 2019-0010, “Guidelines on the Regulation of Operators of Pest Control, Certification of Pesticide Handlers, and Accreditation of Their Training Providers”. The FDA shall devise a mechanism that will provide the required License to Operate for Pest Control Operators to establishments and entities which shall fully comply with the safety standards and documentary requirements set by the agency.

The licensing guidelines and procedures shall be provided in a separate issuance.
