May 28, 2023 — The 16th IFEX Philippines, the nation’s largest international trade event for food and ingredients, concluded today at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. The event attracted diverse participants from countries around the globe, all eager to experience and embrace the rich flavors of Filipino cuisine under the theme “Sharing the Love of Filipino Flavors”.
During the event, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) actively assisted numerous individuals and entities, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, students, exporters, importers, and other attendees who sought information about the FDA’s regulations, processes, requirements, fees, and related matters. The FDA Booth offered valuable resources for guests and visitors who eagerly absorbed the knowledge to facilitate the growth of their businesses and foster collaborations with potential partners both local and abroad.
Looking ahead, the FDA anticipates its participation in the succeeding IFEX event to reach as many local food manufacturers, particularly MSMEs, as possible to increase compliance to the agency’s pre-market requirements. Collaborating with relevant government agencies, the FDA aims to streamline its processes and ensure that MSMEs receive the necessary support to successfully launch their business ventures.
