In line with the commitment of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure the safety, efficacy, and quality of veterinary medicines, the Center for Drug Regulation and Research (CDRR) hosted an afternoon session of Kapihan at Talakayan for Veterinary Drugs on January 18, 2024, at the FDA lobby.
Representatives from prominent veterinary industry organizations, including the Asian Animal Health Association (AAHA), Philippine Association of Pharmacists in the Pharmaceutical Industry (PAPPI), Philippine Association of Pharmacists in Veterinary Industry (PAPVI), Philippine Veterinary Drug Association (PVDA), and the Chamber of Herbal Industries of the Philippines, Inc (CHIPI), were present during the said activity.
CDRR Director, Ms. Jesusa Joyce N. Cirunay together with Ms. Melody M. Zamudio, BSIP, RPh, MGM-ESP FDRO V – LRD Chief and Dr. Chester Joshua V. Saldaña, DVM FDRO IV, took the lead in responding to the concerns raised by the attendees during their respective presentations. Each organization presented their insights, challenges, and innovations, aimed at advancing the standards of veterinary drug products. The session unfolded as a dynamic exchange of ideas and concerns between the industry representatives and the regulatory leaders.
The Kapihan at Talakayan is part of the unwavering commitment of the agency to not only regulate but actively collaborate with industry leaders in shaping the trajectory of veterinary medicine in the Philippines, emphasizing the crucial role of dialogue, transparency, and cooperation in ensuring the well-being of all.
