The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) visited the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pasig City on October 16 to discuss plans and programs aimed at bolstering the celebration of the Consumer Welfare Month with the theme “GS: Generation Sustainable”.
FDA Director General Dr. Samuel A. Zacate together with Atty. John Benedict Aguzar, Dr. Irene V. Florentino-Fariñas, and Ester B. Pastolero offered its advocacy program for consumer awareness and protection.
The Consumer Welfare Month serves as a vital platform for government agencies, local government units, and organizations to unite in raising awareness and implementing measures that protect consumers’ rights, enhance product safety, and promote responsible business practices.
The FDA Team also expressed the agency’s readiness to offer technical assistance to the Pasig LGU with Mayor Vico Sotto and Atty. Diego Santiago. Both institutions are expected to lay the foundation for future collaborations and initiatives that will benefit consumers and local entrepreneurs of the city.
The collaboration between the FDA and the LGU of Pasig serves as a prime example of government agencies working together at both national and local levels to ensure that consumers are protected and well-informed and local businesses are compliant with regulatory standards.
