The Food and Drug Administration Philippines (FDA), under the leadership of Director General Dr. Samuel A. Zacate, and Director Ana Trinidad F. Rivera of the Center for Cosmetics and Household/Urban Hazardous Substances Regulation and Research (CCHUHSRR), met with the Chamber of Cosmetics Industry of the Philippines, Inc. (CCIP) to accelerate the production of locally crafted functional cosmetic products. This initiative aims to bolster the economy, aligning with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s 10-Point Agenda for Prosperity, which emphasizes a resilient and sustainable economy.

During the meeting, the FDA and CCIP addressed challenges within the cosmetics industry and explored ways in which the FDA could provide assistance. As an enabling agency, the FDA is committed to enabling the industry to find solutions such as digitalization, thereby realizing President Marcos Jr.’s vision of a prosperous and comfortable life for Filipinos under the “Bagong Pilipinas”. Director General Zacate also urged the CCIP to extend support to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to further strengthen the cosmetics sector.

FDA and CCIP partnership in empowering the industry to ensure compliance as they work towards their stronger product claims.
