The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) participated in the three-day International Food Exhibition (IFEX) Philippines 2022 held last September 22 to 24 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City. It is the country’s long-running and biggest export-oriented food event which aims to promote micro and small local entrepreneurs and potential exporters.

Organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), IFEX Philippines 2022 have multiple trade components including exhibitions, business matching activities, seminars and talks and product presentations.

At the said event, the FDA discussed the requirements and processes of securing pre-market authorizations such as License to Operate (LTO) and Certificate of Product Registration (CPR). The FDA booth assigned in the Main Lobby, where IEC documents were on display and available for distribution, was visited by exhibitors and guests. It also provided assistance to business owners and customers who had concerns or questions.

More than 300 companies and enterprises from all over the Philippines participated in the trade show, representing the following industries, but not limited to beverages, fine food and specialties, fruits and vegetables, biscuits and confectioneries, snacks and crispy savory food products, dairy products, cereals, grains, and starch, seafood and marine products, food raw materials, and food ingredients.
