PRESS RELEASE

11 September 2020

On 8 September 2020, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director General Rolando Enrique Domingo, Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) Chairperson Secretary Catalino Cuy and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Wilkins Villanueva entered into a partnership by signing the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at the PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City.

The MOA serves as a collaboration among the agencies to develop and strengthen regulation on dangerous drugs. The areas of cooperation include sharing of database, assistance in investigation, intelligence, gathering and seizure of violative products, support in planning and implementing related programs, information dissemination and ensuring compliance among establishments.

As health products continue to spread in the market, monitoring and surveillance continue to remain as crucial functions of FDA. This agreement strengthens our post market surveillance function which ensures that all registered health products, specifically the pharmaceutical products strictly comply to the rules and regulation of the agency.

FDA, together with the concerned agencies, shall continually strive to eradicate dangerous and violative drugs and medicines.
