This year the Food and Drug Administration will be celebrating the National Consciousness Week against Counterfeit Medicines (NCWACM) on November 15-19, 2021, pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation No. 2082 dated 15 June 2010, with the theme “Huwag magpaloko, manigurado! Gamot na awtorisado, ‘yun ang tangkilikin n’yo.”

In line with this celebration, the Field Regulatory Operations Office, being the office tasked to spearhead this yearly event, would be holding a Digital Art Contest with the following mechanics:

Digital Art Contest NCWACM 2021

The NCWACM 2021 Digital Art Contest aims to showcase the best expressions in Digital Art from our stakeholders e.g. LGUs, Consumers, Academe, Law Enforcement Agencies and FDA Employees of this year’s theme “Huwag magpaloko, manigurado! Gamot na awtorisado, ‘yun ang tangkilikin n’yo.”

The process of submission of entries will be done online. Digital art entries must be submitted to [email protected].  Announcement and awarding of winners will be made during the Closing Ceremony of the 2021 NCWACM Celebration on 19 November 2021.

The prescribed categories in relation to the theme “Huwag magpaloko, manigurado! Gamot na awtorisado, ‘yun ang tangkilikin n’yo.” are the following but not limited to:

1) Effects of Counterfeit Drugs on Health and the Economy

2) The Current Pandemic and the Proliferation of Counterfeit Drugs In-store and Online

3) The Global and Local Efforts to Fight Counterfeit Drugs

4) The Multi-sectoral Collaboration in the Country Against the Fight on Counterfeit Drugs

5) The Role of Pharmacists in the Fight Against Counterfeit Drugs

6) The Role of Pharmacy Students in the Fight Against Counterfeit Drugs

7) The Importance of Buying / Supporting Medicines, Medical Products, and Establishments duly     authorized by the FDA.

The contest is open to all ages. All entries must be created using digital technology and presented in various formats of stand-alone digital art images such as, but not limited to: graphic poster, web comic, fractal/algorithmic art, data-moshing, dynamic painting, 2D and 3D computer graphics, pixel art, digital photography, photo-painting, manual vector drawing, integrated art/mixed media and hybrid painting, raster painting and computer-generated painting.

The digital art entries will be judged based on the following criteria: originality (40 %), creativity (30%), design (20%), judges’ votes (10%).

The winners will be receiving cash prizes plus certificate of recognition.

Grand Prize Php 10,000.00
1st Runner- up Php. 5,000.00
2nd Runner-up Php. 3,000.00
3rd Runner-up Php. 2,000.00

The winning entries shall become “official property” of the Food and Drug Administration.

The submission of entries will begin at 12:01 AM on 30 October 2021 and will close at 11:59 PM on 17 November 2021 (PHT).  Questions about the competition may be submitted through [email protected].
