On March 20, 2024, the Food and Drug Administration Philippines hosted the 119th Regular Coordination Meeting of the National Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee – Sub-Committee on Organized Crime (NALECC-SCOC) at Parque España, Filinvest Corporate City Alabang, Muntinlupa City. The NALECC-SCOC was created as a venue for coordinating all law enforcement agencies in the anti-organized crime efforts of the government.

The said meeting was presided over by Undersecretary Gilberto DC Cruz, Executive Director of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime (PAOCC) and Chairman of NALECC-SCOC. Deputy Director General for Field Regulatory Operations Office (FROO) Dr. Oscar G. Gutierrez, Jr. attended the meeting on behalf of FDA Director General Dr. Samuel A. Zacate along with FROO South Luzon Cluster Director Arnold G. Alindada.

The meeting started with the review and subsequent approval of the 118th NALECC-SCOC Regular Meeting held on 12 May 2023. Representatives from the FDA, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission presented their respective offices’ mandates and accomplishments. The meeting concluded with the announcement of the 120th NALECC-SCOC Regular Meeting that will be held on 19 April 2024 with the goal of strengthening the agencies’ partnerships in the enforcements of their respective mandates.

Representatives from various law enforcement agencies such as the Anti-Money Laundering Council, the Philippine National Police and its Concern Groups, the Department of Justice, the National Bureau of Investigation, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, the Commission on Filipinos Overseas, the Department of Finance, the Department of Information and Communications Technology, the National Telecommunications Office, the Department of Trade and Industry-Strategic Management Office, the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime, the Philippine Coast Guard, the National Coast Watch Council, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Bureau of Immigration, Philippine Ports Authority, and the Securities and Exchange Commission attended the said meeting.
