The Food and Drug Administration, under the leadership of Director General Dr. Samuel A. Zacate, continues to support the LAB for ALL Caravan, spearheaded by First Lady Atty. Marie Louise “Liza” Araneta Marcos. This initiative aims to provide free medical consultations and pharmaceutical services, as evidenced by its recent launch at the Cagayan Coliseum in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan Province, on February 27, 2024.

Director General Zacate commended and applauded the dedicated healthcare professionals and collaborating agencies who consistently extend their assistance to the program. Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba also expressed his support and gratitude to First Lady Liza Araneta–Marcos for bringing the LAB for ALL Caravan initiative enabling many of his fellow “Cagayanos” to access free medical services and other government assistance.

The program successfully served a total of 4,755 beneficiaries, providing free medical consultations, and eye examinations resulting in 389 complimentary prescription glasses distributed, 519 dental services, 90 legal consultations, and 5,571 laboratory tests covering various areas such as blood chemistry, hematology, minor surgeries, and medications.

Among the esteemed guests joining First Lady Marcos were Third District of Cagayan Board Member Rodrigo De Asis, Cagayan Province Governor Manuel Mamba, Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Rosario Ting-Que, Dr. Charlie Ho of the Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrists, Inc., Philippine Health Insurance Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Ledesma Jr., and Public Attorney’s Office Chief Persida Rueda-Acosta.
